Booking Statuses in Portal

What each booking status means, where to find it, and how to filter your bookings by status.

Every booking in Portal has two statuses. Booking status tells you where the booking stands with the supplier. Travel status tells you where the trip sits in time. Both show on your booking cards, and each one filters on its own from your Bookings page.

This applies to every booking in Portal: hotels, flights, cruise, activities, and bookings you submit from outside Portal.

Booking Status

Status

What it means

What you need to do

Confirmed

The supplier has your booking and it is firm.

Nothing.

Pending

Fora or the supplier is still working on it.

Nothing. A label next to the status tells you what it is waiting on.

Held

You hold the reservation until a deposit deadline.

Pay the deposit before the deadline shown next to the status.

Canceled

The booking is no longer live with the supplier.

Nothing.

Labels next to Pending

Pending covers anything waiting on Fora or the supplier to complete a booking, so a label tells you which case you are looking at.

  • Queued for ticketing: a flight you booked in Portal, waiting on our team to issue the ticket. This usually takes 15 to 20 minutes.

  • Under review: a booking you submitted from outside Portal, waiting on our Commissions team to verify it. This takes 1 to 2 business days.

More about Held bookings

Held covers courtesy holds, starting with cruise. When you place a hold, the deposit deadline shows next to the status. Most cruise lines hold a cabin for 48 to 72 hours. If the deadline passes without a deposit, the booking moves to Canceled.

Held describes your reservation with the supplier. It is separate from the "on hold" flag that can appear on a payment, which means Fora is reviewing that payment.

Travel Status

Status

What it means

Upcoming

Travel has not started.

Traveling

Your client is on the trip.

Past

Travel has ended.

A canceled booking does not show a travel status.

How to Filter by Status

  1. In Portal, go to Manage > Bookings.

  2. Open the filters.

  3. Select a Booking status, a Travel status, or one of each.

Every booking has one of each status, so the two filters work together. Filtering by Held returns live holds only. A hold that ended without a deposit shows as Canceled, so filter by Canceled to find it.

Common Questions

Do Held and Pending bookings count toward my totals?

A booking counts once it is Confirmed. Held and Pending bookings join your totals when the supplier confirms them.

What happened to my old statuses?

Upcoming, traveling, and past are now Travel status, and every existing booking picked up a Booking status. Nothing for you to update.

I paid the deposit but my booking still shows Held.

Give it up to 72 hours for the supplier to send the confirmation back to Portal. If it has If you paid in Portal, the status updates right away.

If you paid the supplier directly, submit a modification so we can update the booking. Forward the updated confirmation to submit@fora.travel, then go to your Bookings page, finish submitting, and mark it as a Modification. Our team updates the booking within 1 to 3 business days.

If you have done that and the status still has not changed, email support@fora.travel with the confirmation number.

My booking shows Pending and I need it confirmed sooner.

Check the label first. Queued for ticketing means our team is issuing the ticket. Under review means our Commissions team is verifying what you submitted, and we will email you if anything is missing.

Why does my booking show an On hold payment?

On hold is a flag on the commission payment for that booking. It shows under the commissionable value on the booking card, and as a payment status on your Earnings page. It means we have paused that payout while our team reviews it. Your reservation with the supplier is unaffected, so the booking status stays as it is. For more, see Understanding your Earnings Page.
