Net Rate Transactions for Canadian-Based Advisors

Fora is registered with provincial travel regulators across Canada, including TICO (Ontario) and CPBC (BC), and Canadian advisors are subject to the applicable rules around handling consumer funds.

Net rate transactions processed through Fora's platform are not currently available for advisors based in Canada.

If you are a Canadian-based advisor and would like to process a net rate transaction, you must contact us directly by email at canada@fora.travel before initiating the booking. We will review the request and work with you on next steps. Canadian-based advisors are not currently permitted to process net rate transactions through Fora's invoicing tool in Portal.

Why is this required?

Canadian regulations require net rate funds to be held in a trust account with specific record-keeping requirements - something Fora's platform doesn't yet support for Canadian bookings.

Have an easier option first: ask the supplier for gross pricing

Before reaching out about a net rate exception, check whether your supplier partner can offer gross pricing instead. If they can, you can book normally through Fora with no extra steps. Not sure of the difference between net and gross pricing? See here.

If gross pricing isn't an option

If your supplier can only offer net pricing and you still want to process the booking, contact us directly at canada@fora.travel before initiating the booking. We'll review the request and work with you on next steps.

A net rate transaction is any booking where you mark up a supplier's net price and collect funds directly from your client before remitting payment to the supplier.
